More Messy Fun!

Today was Day 2 of our Messy Fun camp.  We experimented with diapers today.  We tore apart disposable diapers and took out the "fluff".  We decided that it looked like cotton.  The kids predicted it would "explode" when we added water... I guess having younger brothers and sisters helped the kids come up with that hypothesis :).

It didn't explode but we were shocked that we had to keep adding water to make the fluff turn into gel that we could play with.

The kids really enjoyed the texture of the "gel goop" and kept coming back to play in our sensory tubs.  I found this idea on the site Familylicious (which has SO many wonderful and messy ideas).

We also made beautiful (but messy) paintings by spraying paper with diluted water color paints.  We then sprinkled salt on the wet paint.  The paper is so beautiful!  It will make wonderful wrapping paper.

  1. Playing with diapers...this is definitely something mothers would not let them do at home. :)

    1. I know...I would have been SO angry with my kids if they started tearing apart those expensive diapers:) I reminded the kids today that this was a special school project only.
